Affiliate Disclosure

How Uric Well earns revenue and what that means for you

What this disclosure covers

Some pages and articles on Uric Well contain affiliate links. If you follow one of those links and go on to buy the product or programme, the seller pays us a share of that sale. That share comes out of the seller’s margin — the price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had found the product yourself.

This disclosure is made in line with the US Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and the UK Competition and Markets Authority’s guidance on affiliate marketing.

Who we have relationships with

  • ClickBank. We are an affiliate of ClickBank, the retailer that handles checkout and refunds for a number of digital health publishers. The programme we currently reference is The End of Gout, published by Blue Heron Health News.
  • Amazon Associates. Where we mention a physical product that is bought through Amazon, the link may be an Amazon Associates link. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Where any other relationship is added, this page will be updated to name it.

How it affects what we write — and what it does not

Being paid on a sale creates an incentive to be enthusiastic. We manage that with three rules:

  • Verdicts are written before the link is placed, not after. If a product does not merit a recommendation, we say so and do not link it.
  • Criticism stays in. Our review of the one programme we earn from devotes several sections to where its marketing exaggerates, including a specific claim we say is not physiologically plausible. That criticism costs us conversions, and it stays.
  • No claim is made for a paid product that we would not make for a free one. Nothing on this site is described as curing or treating gout, whether we earn from it or not.

Where disclosures appear

Every article containing an affiliate link carries a disclosure at the foot of the article, and commercial recommendations are labelled where they appear. We put the disclosure at the bottom because that is where a reader who has just read a recommendation will look for it — not because we are hiding it. Any page with a link also has this page one click away.

A note on what we are selling

Nothing on this site is a medical treatment. A dietary guide is a dietary guide. If you have been prescribed a urate-lowering medication, no product linked from this site is an alternative to it, and we will never present one that way.
